The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter responded to a medical event in Ruatoria, where our on-board critical care flight paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital. Thanks to St John’s Ruatoria for assisting.
Poor visibility as a result of persistent bad weather led to a quiet week for the Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter. However, the team did get to Ruatoria on Saturday in response to a medical event. Already on the scene were Ruatoria Fire Service and St John, which handed care over to the on-board critical care flight paramedic. Once assessed and treated, the patient was flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.
The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter had more than the usual number on board after a call to Hicks Bay for a Motor Vehicle Accident. All three patients were taken by NZ Police to the helicopter landing zone, where our on-board Critical Care Flight Paramedic assessed and treated them before they were flown in stable conditions to Gisborne Hospital.
Boggy terrain meant the Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter had to land in a riverbank when called to Tikitiki for a medical event. After Tikitiki St John brought the patient on site, our on-board Critical Care Flight Paramedic assessed and treated her, ready to be flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.
Ruatoria firefighters provided an illuminated landing site in a paddock when the Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter was called to Ruatoria for a medical event. Once on-site, our Critical Care Flight Paramedic assessed and treated the patient who was flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.
