In the week from Tuesday, January 21 the team’s reportable rescue missions included one trauma, an inter-hospital transfer, three medical events, and two motor vehicle accidents.
The week of missions started on January 21 with an 11am dispatch to a medical event in the Waioeka Gorge (from where they flew the patient in stable condition to Whakatane Hospital) and continued with:
— January 21, 3.09pm — The team was dispatched to a medical event at Ruatoria, flying their patient in serious condition to Gisborne Hospital.
— January 21, 5.07pm – They were called to a motor vehicle accident at Tikitiki from where they flew their patient in stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.
— January 24, 2.45pm – They carried out an inter-hospital transfer, transporting a patient who was in serious condition from Gisborne to Waikato Hospital.
— January 25, 10.15am – The team responded to a trauma at Anaura Bay, flying their patient in stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.
— January 27, 2.30am – They had an early-hours call-out to a medical event at Tikitiki from the team flew their patient serious condition to Gisborne Hospital.
— January 27, 4.52pm — The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland team was one of three rescue helicopter services dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Waipunga (Napier-Taupo Road) where they treated two patients who were flown to Rotorua Hospital, one in serious condition while the other was stable.
