The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter responded to a medical event at Ruakituri, landing at the northern side of the Te Reinga Bridge. There, our on-board critical care flight paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in serious condition to Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.

The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter joined Gisborne Coastguard in responding to reports of a kayaker in distress off the coast between Kaiti Beach and Sponge Bay. Once the kayaker was located they were able to make their own way back to shore.
