The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter was called to a motor vehicle accident at Te Araroa, where our on-board critical care flight paramedic assessed and treated the patient who was flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital. Thanks to St John’s and FENZ who were on scene to assist.

The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter was again called to a medical event on the East Coast, this time to Ruatoria. Once on-scene our on-board critical care flight paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.

The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter was called to a medical event at Hiruharama, where our on-board critical care flight paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.

The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter responded to a personal locator beacon activation at Tokomaru Bay. The team stood-down after the source of the activation was identified.

After a Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter flight to Waipiro Bay early on Saturday afternoon, the patient suffering a medical event was flown in a stable condition to Whakatane Hospital. The team rounded off the weekend with two Sunday missions to Tikitiki. One was again in the early afternoon, with the patient suffering a medical event flown in a stable condition to Gisborne Hospital. The other was at 9.30pm that night and involved two patients, both suffering medical events, and both flown in stable conditions to Gisborne Hospital.

The Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter had a busy week of eight call-outs – not including training missions — of which five were to the East Coast including a motor vehicle accident at Waipiro Bay (August 9, 09:48am), a medical event at Te Puia Springs (August 9, 12:57pm), a medical event at Te Araroa (August 10, 02:00am), a medical event at Ruatoria (August 12, 23:20pm) and a medical event at Hicks Bay (August 13,16:56pm). Other missions carried out by the team this week included responding to a trauma at Motu (August 11, 09:50am), a medical event at Mahia (August 12,14:00pm) and a medical event at Whakaki, south of Nuhaka (August 13, 06:30am).
